Research Interest
Dr. Joudrey’s research includes three areas of emphasis:
1. Improving equity in access to methadone for opioid use disorder across rural and urban communities.
2. Addressing differences in access to medications for opioid use disorder across urban and rural communities.
3. Promoting adoption of evidence-based treatment for unhealthy alcohol use in general medical settings.
Clinical Interest
While faculty within the Yale Program in Addiction Medicine, Dr. Joudrey was a teaching attending at the Yale Primary Care Center and attending physician for the Ledge Light Health District and Alliance for Living Coordinated, Access, Resources, Engagement, and Support (CARES) program providing mobile low-threshold buprenorphine initiation and harm reduction services. He is now an attending physician for the UPMC Internal Medicine Recovery Engagement Program (IMREP). His clinical work prioritizes low barrier substance use disorder treatment and harm reduction services within outpatient and community settings.
Educational Interest
While faculty within the Yale Program in Addiction Medicine, Dr. Joudrey was affiliated faculty for the Yale Collaborative Behavioral Health & Addiction Medicine in Primary Care (CHAMP) Training Program hosting trainees while providing clinical services for the New London CARES program as well as teaching attending at the Yale Primary Care Center. He is now a teaching attending in the UPMC Shadyside Primary Care clinic. His teaching focuses on reducing the harms of drug use and substance use disorder treatment within outpatient and community settings.
