Research Interest
Dr. See’s research has primarily focused on the advancement of medical education and the development of curriculum for the ambulatory and inpatient settings. He is primarily interested in applying adult learning theory to curriculum focused on teaching communication skills at the UME level. He also has an interest in the ways patients and providers communicate during times of conflict and high emotion. His master’s thesis focused on creating a curriculum for senior medical students to teach a novel approach to verbal de-escalation of the agitated patient.
Clinical Interest
Dr. See practices as a general internist in the ambulatory setting as well as in the inpatient hospital setting. He has an interest in evidence-based medicine and preventative care.
Educational Interest
Dr. See consistently teaches courses within the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine curriculum to medical students of all levels. He also teaches residents in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. See has an interest in simulation-based medical teaching, and he has developed novel cases and trained standardized patients for curriculum implemented within the School of Medicine. He has contributed on a national scale with abstracts and a workshop presented at the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM).
