Research Interest
Dr. White’s research is diverse and spans the topics of alcohol use, substance use, bariatric surgery outcomes, obesity, and workforce development. She has an overarching interest in epidemiological methods, particularly those related to the design, conduct, and analysis of observational studies and complex surveys. Dr. White has collaborated on multiple observational studies (Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery [LABS], Teen-LABS, Opioid therapy for pain in individuals with metastatic cancer: benefits, harms and stakeholder perspectives [BEST]) and clinical trials (Customized Career Development Platform, Building Up). Dr. White has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in well-respected, high-impact journals.
Educational Interest
Dr. White is an active scientific mentor to trainees and scholars at the graduate, post-doctoral, and early-career faculty level. She serves on multiple thesis and doctoral committees and provides methodological mentorship to T32 General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship trainees, TL1 Clinical and Translational Science Fellows, KL2 Clinical and Translational Science Scholars, and LEADS-2 Scholars. She currently teaches Scientific Writing and Presentation Skills, Best Practices in Clinical Research, Advanced Observational Methods, and Clinical Research Methods at the ICRE.
