Research Interest
Dr. Bandi’s academic interests focus on the use of telehealth clinical care delivery models, particularly for the delivery of diabetes care within the Veterans Administration Healthcare System and collaborative care processes. Dr. Bandi has successfully implemented numerous telehealth programs for veterans and their families across Western Pennsylvania. To determine the overall effectiveness of these programs, Dr. Bandi assesses clinical outcomes, quality measures, and patient satisfaction related to the use of these telehealth models. She also has focused on designing and studying collaborative team-based processes focused on Type-2 diabetes. In addition to continuously improving telehealth services, Dr. Bandi contributes to the training of future generations of endocrinologists in the use of telehealth clinical care delivery models.
Clinical Interest
For over a decade, Dr. Bandi has been leading efforts at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in reinventing health care delivery using 21st century technology. Telehealth has become her passion & she sees that as a way to address shortage of specialists, especially Endocrinologists and addressing the disparity in care access for disadvantage populations. Using various telehealth modalities, Dr. Bandi has been able to lead VA in expanding care delivery to >3000 remotely located veterans.
