Research Interest
Dr. Abumusa’s research interest lies in the field of medical education, with a specific focus on qualitative research. One of her primary research focuses centers around exploring the experiences and perceptions of trainees regarding issues such as burnout and identity formation. Additionally, she has an interest in coaching across various educational levels. She has developed a workshop that focused on a preclinical year, academic success coaching program that has been delivered as part of a faculty development project. Dr. Abumusa’s research extends to women’s health, with an interest in investigating topics related to female sexual dysfunction and chronic pelvic pain and their evaluation in the primary care setting.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Abumusa enjoys working with patients from diverse backgrounds and of all ages. Her primary clinical interest is in women’s health with a focus on managing menopause and female sexual dysfunction with a goal to provide high-quality and compassionate care to her patients while helping them navigate their health concerns and achieve their goals.
Educational Interest
Dr. Abumusa’s passion for education centers around fostering learners’ growth through self-reflection and developing a growth mindset. She believes in challenging learners to reach their full potential and creating a safe space that encourages vulnerability, emphasizing personal growth and well-being. Dr. Abumusa enjoys teaching both students and residents in inpatient and outpatient settings, and her approach involves providing guidance that empowers learners to realize their potential.
