Research Interest
Dr. Bachrach’s program of research emphasizes the study of unhealthy alcohol use and its comorbidities, as well as its determinants, consequences, understanding factors that influence receipt of evidence-based alcohol care, and implementing strategies to improve equitable access to evidence-based care. Her research uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate questions of interest.

Dr. Bachrach received a VA Health Services Research and Development Career Development Award (CDA; K2HX003087) to develop, refine, and pilot an implementation intervention – practice facilitation – aiming to improve the use of evidence-based alcohol-related care (i.e., screening, brief counseling interventions, pharmacotherapy, and referral to integrated behavioral health and specialty substance use treatment) in a primary care setting.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Bachrach is a licensed clinical psychologist and has extensive experience in using cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to treat patients presenting with mood, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
