Research Interest
My research interests predominantly involve quality improvement, clinical applications of pulmonary physiology and I am currently trying to launch a study that looks at bronchoscopy competency evaluation in the fellows and the impact of real time feedback on performance.
I am a member of the patient safety and utilization review committees at UPMC Jameson and this has helped me identify a few potential quality improvement projects.
Clinical Interest
My clinical interests include medical critical care in general, but I am particularly drawn to the management of ARDS and sepsis in the ICU. My other areas of interest include pulmonary vascular disease-VTE/Pulmonary hypertension and Pulmonary infections-especially in the immunocompromised population.
Educational Interest
As a fellow, pulmonary physiology has always been an area that I have been interested in, it was the focus of my research project during my training and I continue to learn something new everyday. As an extension of that, I am currently trying to get more involved in the mechanical ventilation course for the fellows under the mentorship of Dr. Burton Lee. I am also interested in pursuing a track that will help me participate in fellows' curriculum development in the future.
