Clinical Interest
Dr. Bugos is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. He attended medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing a residency in internal medicine at UPMC Mercy. He specializes in wilderness medicine, having completed a fellowship at the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and providing guest lectures at several medical schools. He is active in several hospital committees and has a wide range of research interests. Dr. Bugos is also active in the community, volunteering with the Allegheny County Search & Rescue, Special Olympics, and the Pittsburgh Marathon.
Educational Interest
Dr. Bugos has given several lectures on wilderness medicine at medical schools and conferences. He was also a co-author on the Guidelines PREP for Internists: Infectious Disease Pilot Study, which aimed to assess a novel multifaceted approach to learning guideline-based medicine for common diseases.
