Research Interest
Dr. Corti's research focuses on the role of Globins proteins in embryonic development and cardiac regeneration. Dr. Corti characterized the zebrafish globins and found that nitrite improves heart regeneration in conditions of low oxygen. Using the zebrafish and mouse as models Dr. Corti is identifying the Globins as important players in maintaining nitric oxide homeostasis during embryonic development and adult metabolism.
