Research Interest
Although not engaged in publishable research, Dr. Dueweke directs multiple internal studies focused on internal cost effectiveness and risk management.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Dueweke's primary clinical interest is in developing cardiac care programs in the community that leverage evidence based medicine and allow patients, regardless of location, access to the latest cardiac advances. In practice, this means developing local expertise where sufficient patient volume exists while educating practitioners regarding patients who benefit from tertiary/quaternary care referral. Areas of specific interest include the safe use of anticoagulants and antiarrhythmics as well as the cost effective use of high-dollar value pharmacotherapy.
Educational Interest
Dr. Dueweke's primary education interest is multidisciplinary education - increasing cross-talk between physicians, nurses, allied health and advanced practitioners such that the education provided to each group of staff moves towards more cohesive function as whole medical team.
