Research Interest
Dr. Ehrenberger's primary research interest is in the history of medicine, nutrition, and the body in modern Western contexts such as Germany and the United States. She has leadership positions at the Journal of General Internal Medicine, in the Body Studies Network of the German Studies Association, and at H-Nutrition (H-Net). She is also involved in the American Association of the History of Medicine.

As for medical research, she is currently conducting an interdisciplinary case series and retrospective chart review into the frequency of pill fragments, severity of mucosal damage, and clinical course of patients taking sevelamer, a common ESRD medication with significant potential morbidity and mortality in the setting of constipation and/or ileus.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Ehrenberger is Director of the Progressive Evaluation & Referral Center (PERC), a unique primary care home for adults with developmental disability, intellectual disability, and/or technology dependence since childhood. She is passionate about creating connections with pediatric providers to smooth the transition into adult medical care.
Educational Interest
Dr. Ehrenberger teaches in the "Race & Racism in Medicine" elective for senior medical students. She has guest lectured for "COVID and Population Health" and "Epidemics & Xenophobia." She is a co-creator of Teaching Rounds, a social media project that provides clinical pearls outside the clinical setting. One of her favorite genres is the historically inflected clinical lecture, such as a history of women's experiences undergoing breast cancer treatment paired with a review of current screening guidelines.
