Dr. Hasan is a Clinical Assistant Professor and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. After earning his MBBS and completing post-graduate medical training at Dhaka Medical College, he worked as a Fellow in the Clinical Sciences Division at the ICDDR in Bangladesh. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, serving as Chief Resident from 2003-2004. He joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2011 and was awarded the UPMC Mercy Hospitalist Distinction in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 for his contributions in professionalism, hospital service, clinical care, and education. Dr. Hasan’s interests are in medical education and resuscitation, and he currently serves as co-chair of the Resuscitation Committee. He is also a member of the Internal Medicine Residency Interview Panel, Patient Safety Peer Review Committee, and Quality Committee at UPMC Mercy in addition to his clinical and academic responsibilities.
