Research Interest
Dr. Lenhard's primary research interests are in oncology. In addition to conducting and publishing research on therapeutic treatments for solid tumors, she also helped develop side effect protocols for Hematology/Oncology clinical trials at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Most recently, she collaborated with the UTMC Dana Cancer Center at the University of Toledo Medical Center on the Lung Cancer Navigator Project.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Lenhard is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of Medicine at UPMC Shadyside. She earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine before completing her Internal Medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. Following residency, she worked as a hospitalist for Community Hospitalists LLC in Ohio, also serving as their Director of Quality from 2010-2012. She then served as Medical Director of the Rapid Observation Unit at Cleveland Clinic's Avon Hospital and Chief of Hospital Medicine at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She joined the faculty at UPMC Shadyside in 2020, bringing extensive experience in hospital leadership, quality improvement, and hospital medicine.
Educational Interest
Dr. Lenhard served as Associate Director of Internal Medicine Residency and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She has mentored multiple medical students, conducted regular lectures and rotation teaching sessions, and presented at Internal Medicine Grand Rounds. In recognition of her efforts and skill, she was named the recipient of the Annual Faculty Teaching Award in February 2020.
