Clinical Interest
Dr. Passero is a board certified medical oncologist and hematologist whose clinical practice is as the Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System - University Drive. Her clinical interests are in gastrointestinal cancers. Her current focus is on building innovative cancer care delivery models to help patients overcome barriers to access. Most recently, her team launched the Virtual Cancer Care Clinic. Using clinical video telehealth, patients can receive their chemotherapy in central Pennsylvania while maintaining routine management with their primary oncologist in Pittsburgh. She is also examining the use of analytics to refine the role and applications of technology in healthcare.
Educational Interest
Dr. Passero is the Associate Program Director for the ACGME-accredited Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program. She is also an active member of the UPMC Medical Education Subcommittee on Accreditation, Review, and Quality (ARQC).
