Education and Training
Education
BS,Chemistry, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 2002
MD, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, 2010
Ph.D., Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, 2010
Training
Internship in Internal Medicine, Johns Hopkins Hospital, 2011
Resident in Internal Medicine, Johns Hopkins Hospital, 2013
Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, 2018
Research Interest
Dr. Suber studies host defense mechanisms in intrapulmonary bacterial infections that lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome. She has also studied how regulation of protein stability by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway modulates lung epithelial responses during inflammation.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Suber's clinical interests include acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and bacterial pulmonary infections including Klebsiella pneumoniae and Streptococcal pneumoniae.
Educational Interest
Dr. Suber is actively involved in the recruitment and retention of talented internal medicine trainees to the University of Pittsburgh. She also teaches medical students and residents in the medical intensive care unit.
