Educational Interest
Dr. Veldkamp's overall goal is to improve equal access to good quality healthcare worldwide. He wants to achieve this goal by educating health care workers on how to provide non-judgmental and excellent medical care, especially in the field of infectious diseases. By motivating and teaching primary care providers across the globe, he hopes to impact positively on the treatment cascades by promoting screening, linking to care, retention in care, treatment and virologic control (HIV) or cure (HCV), and restricted but rational use of antimicrobials.
