Research Interest
Dr. Ghaffari's research focuses on exploring the role of microbiome in inflammatory bowel disease progression and treatment response.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Ghaffari is a board-certified gastroenterologist, and his practice specializes in inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He is also interested in treating patients with overlapping symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome (disorders of gut-brain interaction).
Educational Interest
Dr. Ghaffari is a mentor and educator for GI fellows, residents, interns and medical students. He is interested in medical education curriculum design, development and improvement.
