Ph.D., University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, 1995

Primary research focus is understanding the mechanisms underlying intestinal barrier disfunction and mucosal healing in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), in particular the translatability of animal models of disease to human. Currently collaborating with the Magee Women’s Research Institute, University of Pittsburgh and members of the pharmaceutical industry to support translational approaches to understanding target engagement and efficacy of new medical entities developed for the treatment of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
